About Us
Mother Sapera: Indigenous-Owned, Counter-Fashion by the Kalbeliya Collective. The Go-To Kalbeliya and Adivasi Shop!
Mother Sapera is a circular, counter-fashion and homewares brand dedicated to the economic empowerment of indigenous tribes like the Kalbeliya and caste-oppressed communities across India. Our mission is to disrupt the fashion and retail industry by creating sustainable opportunities and breaking down historical barriers.
We proudly sell our ancestral creations, lovingly crafted and collected by our kin, while also collaborating with other artisan communities. Through partnerships with skilled tailors, weavers, and metalworkers—both within and outside our tribal communities—we provide essential training, empowering our people with the skills needed for self-sufficiency. This approach challenges the long-standing exclusion of indigenous tribes from India’s multi-billion-dollar artisanal export market.
Our goal is to shift power back into the hands of indigenous tribes and their future generations, ending exploitation and exclusion. At the heart of everything we do are empowerment, education, equity, and inclusivity.
